Our first Bob a Job Week - May 21st to 31st 2018

Above is the outside of our first "Bob a Job" card. Scouts will be going out into the community with these cards, offering to do odd jobs for their neighbors. A Bob was a schilling in Britain where Scouting began. Scouts would spend "Bob a Job week" doing inside and outside chores for small change. The money would go towards summer camp and other outings. Now we are updating that program and bringing it to America. The fees collected will go into the individual scout accounts to help parents and scouts save for summer camp. Most importantly there is a separate table for "Acts of Kindness" This is where scouts put the good deeds they do for the disabled and elderly of their community for no fee. Send a text to 414 303 0056 if you have a good deed for us.

There is a list of suggested chores on the inside of the card. We suggest that the employer supplies tools and supervision for bigger jobs if necessary.
Most of these tasks are simple:
Walking your dog
Cleaning gutters
Weeding your Garden
Washing your Windows
Cooking a meal
Tidying a room
Clearing out your Garage
Doing Laundry

If a Scout comes to your door, please put him to work. Today's youth need to learn the value of helping their neighbors and building a strong community.

424-545-2414 I have to garden areas that need plants to be dug up. I have one Spade to be used could possibly get more if needed. Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays work best for me. I'll try to text some pictures to Derek.

Thanks to the boy who came out with his father to clean our gutters. It was greatly appreciated. He felt the money we gave him was a bit much. I said spend it on your big camping trip to Camp Tusomas. We have a bigger project. But that will take money we can't spare this year. That was to make the front steps a ramp. The original mobility ramp we put up. Was not exactly as we wanted it. But it was all we could afford. The original plan was it would be ramp to the back yard and a ramp to the front sidewalk. A program from Milwaukee was to help with it. Boy Scouts from St. Rita's were to help build it. Or so Fr. Charlie had it worked out that way. That fell through near Thanksgiving 2016. The charity program bailed on us. Saying they never promised us anything. We blew up all the savings we had to get what we currently have. We would love the front steps to be a ramp. As it makes it much easier leaving by the front for my husband in a power chair. He has Multiple Sclerosis. He no longer has the mobility he once had. He recently gave up the rights to drive. He now will have to rely on public transportation or rides to place. It was measured by some guidelines found on line. We'd need 10 feet of ramp to be safe for a power chair to the front side walk. We are parishioners of St. Rita's.

Your initiative of starting program “Bob a Job week” is a dire need of today because it will teach moral values arborstreetgrantwriting to our youth. Your program will teach scouts how to learn the values of serving peoples.
